Grand Reopening + Rollergilrs

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Well you may have noticed a change. I Installed WordPress. So far it’s really cool. I got all the old content moved over and now I’m going to spiff the place up a bit.

Had fun seeing the Nashville Rollergirls. It was an interleauge match. The Nashville Rollergirls are a league. There are three Nashville teams, the best of which get together to play other the leagues from other cities which is what we had seen at all of the other matches. I had a little trepidation about seeing an interleauge match, would the play be as good, would they be playing as hard. Well that was just silly, they played hard! There were twice the number of pileups as usual. I’m not an experienced enough observer to know whether this was due to sloppy play or the play was just more aggressive. It seemed to me they were more aggressive. Like they were more comfortable going at it with each other than with teams that come n from out of town.

It was a little awkward at first figuring out who to cheer on. I had favorite skaters on both teams. So I just ended up cheering both teams on. The two teams were Damsels of Distress, and the Assault Rivals. Rambo Sambo played for the Damsels and Slammy Lou Harris, playing last night as Salty Salami, played for the Rivals. It was a squeaker. the Rivals stopping a last period charge by the Damsels by one point.

Wimped out on Belcourt’s midnight showing of Fight Club, but I’m going to be there for Repo Man come hell or high water or extreme fatigue.

Just some quick notes before I go see Indy IV, thank you Stephen and Suzie.

The Nashville Rollergirls WonThey clobbered the Atlanta Rollergirls last night. If you’ve not seen a match you really need to come out on June 7th and see them.

I finished The Pillars of the Earth last week. Turns out me and my sister were reading it at the same time. I think that’s a first. Also finished The Alexandria Link by Steve Berry last night as well. It reminded me a lot of Dan Brown’s stuff, great story but a lot of little annoying things.

Anyway I gotta go get ready by before I go here’s some more proof, as if any is needed that I need to learn to just go to bed.

I’ll be back tonight to tell you how Indy IV was.
